Allison Mei-Li

Poet. Writer. Mother.

Welcome! I’m Allison, a poet based in California. My poetry is intimate and lyrical, exploring the everyday moments that hold universes of meaning. In addition to writing, I spend my days helping others as a speech-language pathologist, chasing after my son, and reading submissions for The Turning Leaf Journal. I’m honored that you are here. It is a joy to share my words with you.

Outdoor bookshelf attached to a brick wall with colorful books and flowering greenery. Bart's Books in Ojai, CA.

My first poetry book is set to debut in 2025! Using motherhood as a backdrop, this collection explores the way wonder and beauty collide with the harsh edges of this world. In one way or another, I have been working on this collection for the past four years. I can’t wait for you to read it.
